Every day we all make a list of things we need to accomplish either in our minds or on paper. We all have a system that works for us. The goal is to cross off as many things on the list as we can. But we never give these lists very much significance because completing the tasks comes so easily. When we create lists and follow through on them we are telling ourselves that we need to do them, can do them and complete them. It is important for everyone to start acknowledging what we accomplish every day big or small. This will propel us to feel as if we can take on bigger goals we dream of attaining.

So why then do we not set goals to become the person we dream of? Why don't we put the same effort in changing the way we are, to the way we want to be?

It is simple. We don't believe in our abilities to achieve such goals. It is very easy for all of us to make a big list of goals and then when they aren't achieved within a short period of time we walk away from them and never look at them again. It is overwhelming since it is too difficult to measure them unless we can accomplish them in a relatively short time.

The key to success is simple: Break down your big goal into measureable, smaller goals. If you want to go back to school to a get a degree, you need to start by making a list of things you need to do to make it happen by breaking it down into tasks like we do every day. This will help you see that you can accomplish anything you want in life. Most things in life seem big and unattainable until we start to break them down to a level where we can start and see results. Then you can say, I have started to achieve my goal and am well on my way. Watch out world! Make a list and start living your life.
